Spectacular 32mm oxidised brass penny presented in a blister pack with information card. One hundred years after the battles of Fromelles (19-20 Jul.) and Pozieres ( 23 Jul.-7 Aug.) on the Western Front, Australia remembers the courage and sacrifice of all who serve our nation, in war and in peace. In 1916 some 40,000 members of the Australian Imperial Force were killed or wounded on the Western Front. By 1918 around 132,000 men bore the wounds of war and 46,000 had lost their lives. Between 1916-1918 295,000 members of the A.I.F. served on the front.
